and self-help purposes. The content on this

Privacy
At present, personal
information is only collected when you use e-mail
to contact us. If you choose
to provide us with personal information by sending
an e-mail, we will use that information to respond
to your message. Any personal information that
we collect as a result of an e-mail exchange will
be securely stored and will not be shared with anyone
outside of the agency unless required by law.
An e-mail exchange does
not in itself establish a professional relationship
between you and the STTAR Center, Inc. No duty-of-care or responsibility
is assumed by STTAR staff solely through e-mail exchanges. Former
clients of STTAR cannot re-establish a professional
relationship solely through e-mail exchanges.
If your e-mail communication
explicitly or implicitly asks for a response, we
will assume that we may reply to the e-mail address
from which it was sent unless otherwise specified. You assume responsibility
for any accidental disclosures of personal information
as a result of others having access to your e-mail
account, including an employer. You should
be aware that employers are entitled to review office
e-mail and may do so.
If you are a currently
a client of STTAR, you may use e-mail as a convenience
for communicating with billing staff. The use of
e-mail to communicate with your therapist or your
child’s therapist should
be discussed first so that appropriate uses and limitations
can be agreed upon. In any case, we can’t guarantee
that your e-mail will not be intercepted during transmission
by a third-party. If you choose to provide
personal health information via e-mail, we will hold
it confidential per our HIPAA policy. A copy
of e-mail exchanges with STTAR clients containing
personal health information will be printed and stored
in their paper files.
Regardless of whether
you are a client, former client, or general member
of the public, do not use e-mail to contact us
in the event of an emergency or crisis. Instead,
contact our hotline, 911 or other local crisis hotlines
for assistance.
If you choose to e-mail with comments, suggestions,
or feedback regarding our site or our services, such
information will be held as non-confidential to be
used by STTAR for any purpose with the proviso that
any personal information attached (such as name or
e-mail address) will be stripped before use.

by STTAR or by other entities as indicated on individual
fact sheets. The specific images,
layout, and organization of content are the property
of STTAR. All content on this site may be used
